3D TV to revolutionize home entertainment – reveals YouGov Siraj’s survey

Subhro P Ghosh

A recent report of a survey conducted in the UAE reveals that 51% of the total 764 surveyed respondents expressed optimistically that the potential of 3D TV penetration is immense to revolutionize the way they’re in watching TV at their residence. Whereas, over one-third of the respondents said that the thing will change more effectively with the application of 3D games.

This sort of research conducted by YouGov Siraj is generally conducted to understand the inclination of customers toward the 3D TV when majority of the global market leaders are venturing into retailing 3D TV. Sharing the experience of the research, H S Paik, President of LG Electronic Gulf opined, “We asked the consumer what they considered would be the most important reason for buying a 3D TV and of those that responded, more than 65 per cent said the ability to be able to watch 3D movies was either important or very important.”

H S Paik also commented that the UAE consumers are well aware about the usage of conventional shutter glasses and its drawbacks such as image flickering and overlapping, whereas due to the presence of inbuilt rechargeable batteries, the glasses are not at all comfortable and low brightness is very common. While the customers were asked on their decision, over 85% voted for lightweight battery-free 3D glasses, variable relaxing seating positions and topmost image clarity matter a lot that would benefit with proper return-on-investment.

The new models of LG Cinema 3D TV introduced globally is based on FPR 3D technology that was achieved the honor of ‘Best 3D technology’ at a Display Event held in Beijing last year. LG’s Cinema 3D TV implemented with FPR technology has also received the ‘flicker-free’ certificate from two global certification agencies Intertek and TÜV.

  2. Hi Dear,

Apropos to your post,I wish to state that the concerned post was not written taking UAE-people only into consideration. The theme is to share the effect and popularity of 3D TVs.It is not that one needs to be an Arab to be impacted. It was just an insight of a survey. It holds true for all 3D TV lovers.Be in UAE or elsewhere.

    Thanks..
